Charles Hickman worked at CCSI, Commercial Coating Services Inc., near Conroe, Texas. He sued his former employer for racial discrimination and harassment after verbal harassment turned into physical abuse in one of the company's restrooms. Hickman said a white colleague placed a noose around his neck in a bathroom and began choking him while co-workers watched
in October 2002.

The company recently settled with him for $1 million dollars. The offending employee apparently plead guilty to assault charges and spent 9 months in jail. Frankly, I think both he and the company got off easy.Technorati Tags:Categories:
